About us

Bonjour! We’re from California, and now we live in France!

What? How? Why did you move to France!?

That’s a question we are often asked. Then came the warnings: “French people don’t like Americans!” “Stay away from the Riviera” and “Watch out for the bureaucracy!”

We didn’t listen to anyone, and the French are lovely. All the stories are on our blog, The Expat Reporter, where we answer many questions in our Expat Life highlights.

We traveled for years and decided we wanted to live in Europe. After considering other countries, we chose France. It’s everything for us: sophisticated culture, delicious food, on-the-go lifestyle, and beautiful country. How could we not live here? Life is short, so we took a leap of faith, found a house, made new friends (and invited all our old friends to visit!), and are settling in.

Easy? No. Not at all. It’s very challenging. But if you’re up to it, join us, and we will show you how we did it.
